Ripples Designers Set Their Sights on Decorex 2024 to Spot the Top Interior Trends

Last week, our designers headed to London to visit Europe's biggest interior design show, Decorex, to discover the latest products and design concepts set to influence the industry in 2025.

Decorex is a prestigious annual trade show in the interior design industry, showcasing luxury interiors and high-end design. Held in London, it attracts designers, architects, and industry professionals from around the world. The event features a wide range of exhibitors presenting innovative products, materials, and design solutions. Decorex is known for highlighting the latest trends, cutting-edge designs, and sustainable practices in interior design, making it a key event for networking, inspiration, and discovering new ideas and products in the field.

What did they discover?

Mirrors have become crucial in modern interiors for magnifying light and creating the illusion of larger spaces. Colour drenching, involving saturating a space with a single hue, adds visual appeal and a cocooning effect, especially with the introduction of bright pastels and the trendy burgundy combined with terracotta and cornflower blue. Enhancing ceilings and optimising natural light were notable trends, with decorative and painted ceilings making small spaces feel both cosy and roomy. Storytelling through design is gaining importance, personalising spaces with whimsical prints. Sustainability is emphasised, with eco-friendly materials and products showcased, such as Kast's waste-reducing basins and Tamasine Osher’s award-winning GRAIN lamps made from storm-felled Ash trees. Biophilic design, featuring natural materials and indoor plants, promotes well-being and connects interiors with nature, particularly in bathrooms. Lastly, there was a strong focus on wellness, with designs promoting comfort and relaxation for mental and physical health.

Final thoughts…

Decorex 2024 created an exciting groundwork for interior design by showcasing a variety of cutting-edge concepts and styles that meet the changing needs of both homeowners and designers. The focus on sustainability, harmonious colour palettes, and natural light indicated a major movement towards designing spaces that are both aesthetically beautiful and environmentally conscious.

With the right tools, designers will be moving into 2025 creating environments that are both aesthetically captivating and emotionally impactful.
